Neptune Henriksen
Performance Artist
Starting out as an alternative comedian in 2011 at age 19, Neptune Henriksen now utilises his 15 years of live performance experience to create artistically rich and deeply honest works, focusing on sexuality, desire, masculinity, psychology, and trauma recovery.
Recent works include 2022’s Long Drive Together, a two-hand, one-act play, following two friends travelling to their hometown, to visit their high school friend’s grave, on the 15-year anniversary of her death by suicide. And 2023’s Neptune Henriksen - Being A Woman For Money, an absurdist solo comedy show, delving into three jobs Neptune had pre-transition: stripper, life model, and sex worker.
Currently, Neptune is touring ‘Neptune Henriksen - With Legs Wide Open’, a stripped down solo comedy fluxus work, exploring his journey of somatic therapy using medicinal cannabis and casual sex.
He is also a current cast member of Karma Dance’s ‘Temple of Desire’, a dance work based in classical Indian dance form of Bharatanātyam, exploring divinity and sexuality, which has already toured to Melbourne, Toronto, and the iconic Sydney Opera House.
