Artist Statement

The aim of Neptune Henriksen’s work is to explore truth. Deeply, freely, and without shame. Currently, Neptune’s work is focused on live performance, pushing back against our social-media-shaped, ultra-polished world, and returning the focus back to in-person, stripped back events.

Neptune’s topics of focus include the body, sexual desire, psychology, death and grief, and his approach to these topics is shaped by his own lived experience, and is accompanied with levity, drawing on his 15 years of experience as a comedian.

As a performance artist, Neptune’s focus is on the work, the concept, and what it brings up in each audience member.
